COVID-19 Update

September 6th, 2020

Dear Parent/Guardian,

A positive case of COVID-19, not related to the classroom, has been diagnosed in an individual at Holy Trinity Catholic High School.

Our school remains open to in-person learning for all students, and we are working closely with AHS to ensure necessary measures continue to be in place to protect all staff and students. Safety, as always, is our first priority.

With respect to this person and in accordance with Alberta Health Services guidelines, we cannot disclose personal details. However, we are able to share that we learned of the confirmed COVID-19 case this weekend.

Alberta Health Services quickly reached out to all persons who have been deemed in “close contact” with this case. This is an isolated incident and it was immediately addressed in preparation for classes resuming on Tuesday September 8, 2020.

Out of an abundance of caution, as we continue our focus on preventing the spread of COVID-19, additional cleaning occurred at Holy Trinity Catholic High School this weekend. The disinfecting focused on areas where the individual had been present. This is in addition to our ongoing daily cleaning as part of our operating procedures.

We remind parents/guardians of students, as well as any staff/visitors/volunteers to monitor for any signs or symptoms of COVID-19. The Alberta Health daily checklist can be found here. Please remember to complete the checklist each day prior to attending school.

As a reminder, if you/your child has any of the symptoms of illness listed on the Alberta Health daily checklist, please fill out the online Alberta Health Services COVID-19 self-assessment or call Health Link at 811 and stay home/keep your child at home.

We know this news can be distressing and supports are available. Please reach out, if you need assistance, at 780-799-5700 or info@fmcsd.ab.ca.

Sincerely,

Lisa Hilsenteger,              George McGuigan,

Principal                             Superintendent
